Venables, Edmund
Biography
Rev. Edmund Venables (1819 - 1895), ordained churchman of the Church of England and antiquary, is best known for his remarkable biography, The Life of John Bunyan (1888), in which he detailed Bunyan's years of preaching and clarified his theology. He also also researched the relics of Roman civilization, published various lectures, and compiled a guidebook for visitors to his island, the Isle of Wight (1851). Venables died at the age of 76. ;
