Spooner , Lysander ( 1808 AD - 1887 AD )

An American political philosopher, abolitionist, anarchist, legal theorist, and founder of the American Letter Mail Company, Lysander Spooner was a renowned figure of the 19th century. A prominent figure of the Abolitionist Movement, he raised his voice against slavery and offered his legal services to the anti-slavery campaign from 1846 to 1861. He also contributed to American Individualist Anarchism.

Spooner challenged the slavery in United States in his most famous work The Unconstitutionality of Slavery (1846). His other works include An Essay on the Trial by Jury (1852), No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority (1870), and Vices Are Not Crimes: A Vindication of Moral Liberty (1875).
