Biography
Friedrich Engels (1820 - 1895) was a German philosopher, writer, humanist, and social scientist. Born in Barmen in the Rhine Province of the kingdom of Prussia, Engels was one of the founders of Socialism and Communism. In collaboration with Karl Marx, he authoredone of the world's most influential political tracts,The Communist Manifesto(1848). Engels also wrote such notable books asThe Holy Family (1844) and The Condition of the Working Class in England (1844).
