Biography
An ancient figure who according to the Greeks taught others how to build cities and established various laws. He is said to be the one who first introduced information regarding planets and the zodiac. He also served as a moral guide to others around him. He wrote on a variety of subjects and his works can broadly be divided into two categories: philosophical and technological. These writings, known as Hermetica, are a treasure trove of knowledge and their antiquity further heightens their value. These were especially popular among the alchemists of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. During Renaissance, their compilation by Italian scholars resulted in the famous Corpus Hermeticum. ;
