    Biography

    Rinku Sen is the president and executive director of the Applied Research Center (ARC) and publisher of ColorLines, a national newsmagazine on race and politics. She writes and speaks extensively about racial justice, immigration, community organizing, and women's lives for a wide variety of publications. She previously worked as a community organizer and was the co-director of the Center for Third World Organizing. She emigrated to the United States from India when she was a child and studied at Brown and Columbia Universities. Sen is also the author of Stir It Up: Lessons in Community Organizing and Advocacy.;
