Biography
George Douglas Brown(1869 - 1902) was a Scottish novelist born in Ayrshire and educated at Glasgow University and Balliol College, Oxford. He is best known for his popular realist novel, The House with the Green Shutters (1901), which portrays Scottish life in the mid - nineteenth century. As a journalist, he contributed articles and stories to Blackwood's Magazine. He also publishedan adventure novel, Love and a Sword, in 1899 under the pseudonym Kennedy King. ;
