An eminent supporter of women rights, Amelia Edith Barr (1831 - 1919), a British American author born in Yorkshire, England, wrote novels, articles for religious periodicals, and semi - historical tales. Although she started her writing career late, at the age of fifty three, there are more than seventy titles to her name. She published an autobiography, All the Days of my Life, before her death in 1919.
