Donn Byrne, bornBrian Oswald Donn - Byrne (1889 - 1928) was an Irish novelist born in New York when his parents were on a business trip. He studied Romance languages at the University of Dublin and continued studying in Europe in the hope of joiningthe British Foreign Office. Byrneestablished his writing by contributing to the student magazine, The National Student. He wrote poems, novels, and short stories including The Piper (1912) Battle (1914) and The Stranger's Banquet (1919).
