Becker, Carl Lotus
Biography
Carl Lotus Becker (1873 - 1945) was an American professor and historian born in Iowa. He studied at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and completed his Ph. D. in 1907. Becker is best known for The Heavenly City of the Eighteenth - Century Philosophers (1932) and his research on the history of American Revolution. He taught at a number of institutions and produced such works as Eve of the Revolution (1918) andThe Beginnings of the American People (1915).
