Wheeler, Edward Lytton
Biography
Edward L. Wheeler (ca. 1854 - 1885) was a sensational novelist born in Avoca, New York. Wheeler started his literary career by writing stories and short sketches for the Saturday Journal in the 1870s. Then he published a popular novel, Hurricane Nell: the Girl Dead - Shot, or The Queen of the Saddle and Lasso, in 1877. His series of stories about the adventures of the heroic Deadwood Dick were published in Half - Dime Library between 1885 and 1897.
