    Biography

    Emerson Bennett (1822 - 1905) was born in Massachusetts. The son of a farmer, he spent his later life in New York and Philadelphia. He also lived in Cincinnati where he wrote stories for various magazines. Bennett produced more than forty popular romances. He also wrote scores of sketches of American frontier life, which appeared in the New York Ledger, the Philadelphia Evening Post, and other papers. The Prairie Flower and Leni Leoti were among his best known works. ;
