    Biography

    German novelist and Egyptologist Ebers discovered the Egyptian medical papyrus. He is known for his fastidious 'Professorial novels' such as An Egyptian Princess (1874), Cleopatra (1894), The Grey lock, The Nuts, The Bride of the Nile, A Thorny Path. Ebers conceived the idea of popularizing Egyptian lore by means of historical romances.
