Piozzi, Hesther Lynch
Hesther Lynch Piozzi (Hester Lynch Thrale, 1741 - 1821), British author, diarist, and benefactor of the arts, was born in Bodvel Hall, Caernarvonshire, Wales. She is best - known for her relationship with the English author and lexicographer Samuel Johnson and her chain of anecdotes about him, Anecdotes of Johnson (1788). She also wrote many diaries, poems, anecdotes, and other diverse writings, which were collectively published in an anthology, Thraliana (1942). She died in Bristol at the age of 80.
