    Biography

    Frederick John Fargus (1847 - 1885), English novelist, was born in Bristol and wrote under the pseudonym Hugh Conway. He is best - known for his long story, 'Called Back' (1883), which was adapted to the stage in London in 1884. His first short story was published in Arrowsmith's Miscellany. He also wrote, Dark Days (1884) and then died of typhoid fever in Monte Carlo a year later at the age of 38. Some of his other works, notably A Family Affair, were published posthumously. ;
