Altsheler, Joseph Alexander
Joseph A. Altsheler (1862 - 1919) was an American journalist and juvenile fiction writer. He was born in Three Springs, Kentucky and was educated at Liberty College, Glasgow and Vanderbilt University. Altsheler started his career as a journalist and worked for several papers, including the Louisville Courier - Journal, theNew York World andthe World's tri - weekly magazine, to which he contributed children's stories. He wrote six series of books, among whichThe Young Trailers Series is the most popular.
Joseph A. Altsheler was an American author of juvenile literature. He narrated and elaborated upon historical events in his writings. A prolific writer, he also remained correspondent for different magazines and newspapers.
