Biography
American novelist, short story writer and poet. Lincoln wrote more than 40 popular novels in his lifetime. He spent his childhood in Cape Cod, a place that forms the backdrop of many of his writings. His first published work was Cape Cod Ballads (1902). Lincoln's first novel Cap'n Eri (1904) was an instant success. His other writings include Partners of the Tide (1905), The Depot Master (1910), The Portygee (1920), Great Aunt Lavinia (1936), and The Bradshaws of Harness (1943).
