    Justus von Liebig (1803 - 1873) was a famous German chemist. He was born inDarmstadt, Germany, the son of a medicine dealer. Liebigstudied chemistry at Bonn and Erlanger universities and made contributions to agricultural and biological chemistry. He also developed the modern laboratory - oriented teaching method,discovered that nitrogen is a vital plant nutrient, and formulated the Law of the Minimum. ;
