Aubin, Penelope


    English novelist, poet, and playwright Penlope Aubin (1679 - 1731) was among the first group of female writers to give shape to the English novel. Scholars speculate that she started writing in order to support herself after the death of her husband. Her literary career began with poetry, and she went on to write many novels and plays. ;
