Biography
Stephen Townley Crane (1871 - 1900), an American novelist, poet, and journalist, was born in Newark, New Jersey to a Methodist minister, Jonathan Townley Crane. He attended the College of Liberal Arts at Syracuse University but did not graduate. Crane is famous for his novel, Red Badge of Courage: An Episode of the American Civil War (1895). He was a famous poet, journalist, social critic and realist and also wrote Maggie, a Girl of the Streets (1893) and many other works. ;
