Arthur, Timothy Shay

The American author, reporter, editor, and publisher Timothy Shay Arthur (1809 - 1885) is best known for his role in the temperance movement. His works contain simple morals, instructions, advice, and suggestions relevant to his times. Besides being a contributor and editor for different newspapers and magazines, he founded his own magazine in 1852 and gained fame after publishing a tale of temperance, Nights in a Bar - Room(1854). ;
