    Biography

    Trent Sheppard helps to lead Campus America' an initiative of the 24 - 7 Prayer movement. Campus America is a simple call for a connected' unbroken year of prayer in 2010 to link every college and university campus in the United States in a chain of nonstop student prayer. Sheppard also serves as a teaching pastor with STATUS church. He holds a bachelor's degree in Intercultural Studies from the University of the Nations' and a master's degree that combines Christian History and Spiritual Formation from Wheaton College. It's a path of study which prepared him well for writing his first book' God on Campus. In it he unpacks a number of transformative turning points in the history of colleges and universities in the United States' and then applies the lessons learned from that history to the critical concerns of today.Sheppard and his wife and daughter currently live in a Boston - area intentional community with two other couples. Before moving to Massachusetts' Sheppard spent eight years working with Youth With a Mission in the United Kingdom where he helped to lead a community called The Factory. Made up of an international team of young adults' The Factory was committed to engaging with culture and society in Jesus - like witness' out of which emerged multiple training events' discipleship schools' collegiate outreaches and some long - term initiatives like EngageHIV.When it comes to books about prayer and practical theology' Sheppard especially recommends Pete Greig's Red Moon Rising' and the writings of N.T. Wright' Dallas Willard and Shane Claiborne. When it comes to music' his tastes are a bit more eclectic' and include Athlete' U2' Lauryn Hill' Paul Simon' Switchfoot' Johnny Cash' Sigur Rs and Michael Jackson.Sheppard travels widely to speak with college students and others about the life of faith. His journeys have taken him to 50+ nations.;
