Kingston, William Henry Giles
Biography
British author famous for his adventure stories. Kingston's work is known for its patriotic element. He wrote extensively and his stories for boys are especially memorable. The most popular of these are Peter the Whaler (1851); and The Three Midshipmen (1873). Kingston is also renowned for his English translation of The Swiss Family Robinson (1879). A couple of his books are set in Canada. These are titled The Trapper's Son (1873); and Snow- Shoes and Canoes (1876).
