    British author, poet and essayist, Arthur Christopher Benson (1862 - 1925) was an important academician and a prolific writer. The eldest son of Edward White Benson, Archbishop of Canterbury, he became schoolmaster at Eton college and later a master at Magdalene College, Cambridge. His writings included poetry, essays, novels and biographies, and he left one of the longest diaries ever written. He was the editor of Queen Victoria's letters and the most popular essayist of Edwardian era. ;
