    Biography

    Elisabeth Easther has been a book critic in New Zealand and in the UK since 1993 when she started reviewing books on National Radio with Kim Hill. She later became the books editor of Cleo Magazine, for many years was a regular contributor to the books page of Time Out in London and still reviews today on radio and in print. Elisabeth is also a journalist, focusing mainly on travel, arts, literature and culture, contributing to magazines and newspapers locally and around the world. Her fiction work includes a number of serials and stand-alone stories for Radio NZ National as well as several plays, including the award winning Seed, which was awarded the Adam NZ Play Award in 2014. Elisabeth is also an actress, voice artist, and a narrator of talking books at The Royal NZ Foundation for the Blind. In addition, she manages the performance diary of beloved New Zealand poet Sam Hunt and is soon to start work on the television series Islands of the Gulf, following in the footsteps of her mother Shirley Maddock's acclaimed television series and book of the same name.;
