    Biography

    Captain Frederick Marryat(1792 - 1848), an English novelist, naval officer, seaman, and traveler, was born in London the son of a merchant prince. He had great passion for sea travel and joined the Royal Navy at the age of 14. Marryatis regarded as a pioneer of the sea story.  His fame is due to the semi - autobiographical novel Mr Midshipman Easy (1836) and his children's novel The Children of the New Forest (1847). ;
