    Biography

    Harold Frederic (1856 - 1898), the Anglo - American journalist and novelist, was born in Utica, New York. He is best known for his novel The Damnation of Theron Ware (1896), a tale of the decline and fall of a Methodist minister. Frederic also wrote The Copperhead (1893), and Marsena and Other Stories (1894), and Gloria Mundi (1898). He wrote for the Albany Evening Journal and the New York Times. ;
