Biography
Ethel Charlotte Pedley (1859 - 1898) was an Australian musician, author, and passionate supporter of the preservation of flora and fauna in Australia. She was born at Acton, near London and is best - known as a writer of Dot and the Kangaroo (1899), the story of a small girl lost in the bush who is befriended a kangaroo. Pedley was born to a musical family and also trained various choruses and organised charity concerts throughout her life. She died of cancer at the age of 39. ;
