Biography
American novelist, playwright and legislator. Dixon's most celebrated work is The Clansman (1905). It forms a trilogy with The Leopard's Spots (1902) and The Traitor (1907). All of Dixon's 20 novels are reflective of his thinking and social views. They illustrate his opposition of Afro-Americans, feminism, pacifism and socialism. He also wrote a few plays. Dixon's most important non-fictional work is The Inside Story of the Harding Tragedy (1932). He wrote it in collaboration with President Harding's former campaign manager. ;
